IMHPA Informs & Protects Professionals & Independent Psychotherapy Practices
IMHPA has been incorporated in Oregon since 1996, with the mission to protect and support ethical mental health practice and the public. IMHPA is a 501 (c)(6) corporation, the sort of mutual benefit corporation which makes it possible for competitors to contract together with insurance companies.
IMHPA members are positioned for leadership in the development of ethical contracting toward value-based reimbursements.
IMHPA is a National Leader in Health Information Technology (HIT), offering training, software access, and support for demonstrated quality and outcomes improvement by psychotherapy professionals.
IMHPA offers training and technology to ensure that psychotherapists can provide reliable, valid and ethical screening, process, alliance, and outcome measures using client-protective measurement and charting software.
IMHPA members have investigated and identified contracting practices and clinical records requirements supported by Healthplans that are unreliable, invalid, unethical, and sometimes harmful to patients. Consider reading What is the Value of Charting in Psychotherapy Practice?
IMHPA co-sponsors FREE Comprehensive Training to “Audit Proof” Your Practice, That recorded CE includes free access to download the current version of The GRID Learning While You Chart Software. (The GRID works easily on Microsoft supported computers. It requires third party software to adapt to Apple computers.) This software is in ongoing improvement, it is not in the Cloud. The GRID requires time and focus to master due to its depth and flexibility. A GRID chart can be adapted to the many ways ethical clinicians choose to practice. Some members of IMHPA use GRID charting exclusively because of the GRID’s emphasis on assessment, symptoms, symptom change and client confidentiality.
IMHPA offers cutting edge online clinical and practice marketing resources developed through collaboration. These include LightQ’s screening, assessment, progress, alliance and outcome measures and practice analysis, and the OregonTherapyOptions (OTO) marketing and public information website, The OTO site offers many strategies to support IMHPA members’ practice development.
All active IMHPA members may build as many free websites as they choose, for just the cost of their own GoDaddy domains.
